VANCOUVER — According to the latest survey from BC Hydro, many British Columbians are willing to reduce their carbon footprint by driving instead of flying.

Released Friday (June 28), the survey says one third of BC residents are fine with road tripping to their destination instead of hopping on a flight.

Hydro also released data laying out the environmental impact of air versus road travel.

For two passengers on a return flight from Vancouver to Kelowna, that produces around 400 kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions. That’s about the same as 170 litres of gas.
