KAMLOOPS — People interested in making the switch from gas to electric powered transportation can check out their options today at the Electric Vehicle Show.

The Kamloops Chapter of the BC Sustainable Energy Association (BCSEA), and the TRU Sustainability Office have teamed up to host the event this afternoon.

Experts will be on hand to answer questions about the vehicles and bikes, federal and provincial rebate programs, and a number of vehicles will be on display from local dealers.

The event only includes plug-in electric vehicles, and not gas-electric hybrids. Local bike shops will also be bringing their e-bikes.

The fleet brought in by local dealers and owners includes a Chevy Bolt, Hyundai Kona, Hyundai Ioniq, Kia Sol, Nissan Leaf, Smart For Two Electric Drive, Tesla S, and Tesla 3.

The show will be held from the Thompson Rivers University, Campus Activity Centre between 10 a.m and 2 p.m today.

The event is free of cost, and registration can be accessed here.
