VIDEO: Two injured after truck crashes into Dufferin salon

KAMLOOPS — Two people suffered minor injuries after a pickup truck slammed into a Dufferin hair salon Thursday afternoon.

Ryan Cail of Kamloops Fire Rescue says the Ford F-150 came into the parking lot, over a barrier and into the storefront at Terra Bella Hair Design.

“We arrived on scene and found a vehicle halfway in the wall,” said Cail. “Actually, not much damage. It’s lucky that it went right through the window; the building, structurally, looks pretty good.”

The salon’s owner was sitting at her desk near the window when the incident happened. She and the truck’s driver were both taken to Royal Inland Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Stylist Marnie Ullrich says this is a first for her.

“I was just cutting hair and my guest was in her chair. The next thing we knew, we heard a big pop. The owner was sitting at her desk and the window literally shattered and glass was everywhere and there was a truck inside our salon,” said Ullrich.

RCMP are investigating, and have yet to determine why the crash took place.
