Safeway stores in Sahali, 100 Mile House, Williams Lake to become FreshCo

KAMLOOPS — Safeway stores in Kamloops, 100 Mile House and Williams Lake are among those that will be temporarily closed and transformed by their parent company later this year.

The Kamloops Safeway location affected is the one in the Sahali Mall.

According to a news release from Empire Company Limited, the stores will be turned into FreshCo-branded grocery stores. The 100 Mile store will close on October 5 to begin its transformation, while stores in Kamloops, Williams Lake, Kelowna, Vernon and Powell River will close temporarily on November 23.

The company says the targeted re-opening as FreshCo is spring of 2020.
