Prescribed Burn For Goose Lake Area

KAMLOOPS – Officials are planning a prescribed burn in the Goose Lake area, about nine kilometres south of Kamloops.

The BC Wildfire Service and the Tk’emlups Forestry Development Corporation expect to burn off pine grass, small branches and other combustibles.

The burn is expected to support replanting efforts and improve feeding conditions for local wildlife.

The six hectare burn could begin as early as Friday afternoon but officials won’t ignite the controlled fire, until weather conditions are calm. Smoke may be visible throughout the Kamloops area.
