Harper Mountain fully opens ahead of New Year
KAMLOOPS — It may have been a slower start than usual for the Kamloops ski hill, but Harper Mountain is now fully operational.
Norm Daburger is the owner of Harper Mountain, and he says despite a mild start to winter in Kamloops, conditions on the ski hill are good.
“The tube park is busy, lots of people, it just takes skiers a little bit to get word that we are open,” he says. “Conditions are good early season conditions, so word’s travelling fast. It’s much busier today, and onwards from here.”
After being delayed a couple of weeks, the mountain opened to skiers yesterday (Dec. 26) with the opening of the T-bar lift. Daburger says the chairlift is opening today and as of tomorrow the hill will be in its full operating schedule.
