BC Hydro crews repairing Kamloops power outages

KAMLOOPS — Updated: According to the latest update from BC Hydro, power has been restored this afternoon to the over 600 customers in the Shuswap Road, Valleyview, Barnhartvale and Dallas areas along the Trans Canada Highway.

Work for BC Hydro repair crews is not yet over in Kamloops, as they respond to a second power outage today, affecting 676 customers.

The outage spans through the Trans-Canada Highway area in Valleyview, along Shuswap Road, and Barnhartvale / Dallas areas. 

The cause is listed as a bird contacting the wires.

The power is back on for over 1,500 Kamloops customers after BC Hydro crews responded to an outage earlier this morning.

According to BC Hydro, the outage impacted 1619 customers, east of Westsyde Road, west of Pinantan Lake Road, and north of Barnhartvale Road.

The cause of the outage is not yet known.
