Kamloops’ McGillvray qualifies for B.C. Junior Women’s Curling semi final

KAMLOOPS — The Megan McGillvray rink from Kamloops/Vernon has qualified for the playoff round at the B.C. Junior Women’s playdowns in Vernon.

At 5-and-2 in the round robin the McGillvray rink will play Taylor Reese-Hansen from Victoria in the semi final.

The winner will play Delta’s Sarah Daniels for the B.C. Junior championship.

Holly Hafeli, also from Kamloops, went 2-and-5 to miss the playoffs.

In junior men’s Bryan Yamada from Kamloops was 2-and-5 and failed to qualify for the playoffs.

The semi final will have Hayato Sato from New Westminster facing Erik Colwell, a mixture of players from Vernon, Kelowna and Invermere.

The winner will meet Tyler Tardi of Victoria in the final.
