LANA DEL REY ANNOUNCES NEW SONG & BOOK OF POETRY: Lana Del Rey has announced that she is getting ready to release a new song and a short book of poetry, but she also has to cancel some upcoming shows that she had previously planned. “Happy New Year to everyone. I hope you enjoy the new song I’m putting out on the ninth. it’s called ‘hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have- but i have it,’” Lana wrote on her Instagram account. “Also as of last week I finished a short book of poetry I’ve been writing over the last 13 months that I’ll be putting out later,” Lana continued. “In the meantime though I’d like to apologize in advance for upcoming cancellations of shows you’ll be hearing about – I wish I could fulfill those obligations but I won’t be able to.”

RICKY MARTIN ANNOUNCES BIRTH OF DAUGHTER: Ricky Martin has announced the birth of his daughter. “We are beyond happy to announce that we have become parents to a beautiful and healthy baby girl, Lucia Martin-Yosef. It has been a special time for us and we cant wait to see where this stellar baby will take us. Both her beautiful brothers and me and Jwan have fallen in love with Lucia,” Martin wrote on Instagram Monday. The message captioned a photo focused on the newborn’s tiny hands, each of which is held by one of her dads. Martin and Jwan Yosef have been married for about a year. Martin became the father of twin sons Matteo and Valentino via a surrogate in 2008. He and Yosef are now raising them together.

JIMIN OF BTS RELEASES SOLO TRACK ‘PROMISE’: Jimin of BTS has released his first solo single titled “Promise.” Jimin uploaded the track onto BTS’ official Soundcloud page on Sunday. “Promise” was produced by frequent BTS collaborator Slow Rabbit with lyrics written by Jimin and his fellow bandmate RM. The song features lyrics in both English and Korean. “Everyone, you’ve waited a long time, right?” Jimin said on BTS’ Twitter account according to a translation by Billboard. “I finally shared my own song with the public. This is a song for me, as it is a song for you. It’s the first time and it is still premature but please enjoy it. Thank you for waiting, ARMY,” he continued.

MADONNA PERFORMS AT NYC’S STONEWALL INN ON NEW YEAR’S EVE: Madonna surprised fans by giving a special New Year’s Eve performance at the Stonewall Inn on Monday night in New York City. She was just named an ambassador of the venue, ahead of its 50th anniversary. The Stonewall Inn is the site of the riots that helped launch the LGBTQ movement in 1969. “I stand here proudly at the place where pride began, the legendary Stonewall Inn, on the birth of a new year. We come together tonight to celebrate 50 years of revolution,” Madonna told the crowd. “If we truly took the time to get to know one another we would find that we all bleed the same color and we all need to love and be loved. Let’s remember who and what we are fighting for – ourselves, for each other, but truly and most importantly, what are we fighting for? Let’s take a minute to reflect on how we can bring more love and peace into 2019, let’s look at how we can bring random acts of kindness. Maybe we can find an opening to bring the light in. Are you ready to do that?” Madonna performed “Like a Prayer” and a cover of Elvis’ “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”
