KAMLOOPS — The Salvation Army’s Kettle Campaign is wrapped up for the season, reaching and surpassing its goal of $200,000.

The campaign launched on Nov. 14 and ran right through Christmas Eve.

It raises money for needs that come up in the community all year long.

This year’s fundraiser brought in $23,000 more than last year, thanks in part to the debit and credit machines that brought in more than $4,000.

“We have a cash total of $193,258,” said Major Paul Trickett of the Kamloops Salvation Army. “That’s not including the cheques that came in as well, so the cheques that came into the kettles puts us over $200,000. And, just a throw out, we had a gentlemen put a $15,000 cheque at our thrift store right at the end of the season for us.”
