Imagine Dragons lead singer Dan Reynolds is showing off his physique in the new issue of Men’s Health.

In an interview, the singer reveals how he achieved his amazing new physique, calling his new abs and biceps “a statement.” “It embraces the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll,” he says. “I grew up loving Iggy Pop, Mick Jagger, Freddie [Mercury] – showmen.”

Working with trainer Brad Feinberg while on tour with Imagine Dragons last year, Reynolds worked out for one to three hours seven days a week, doing a combination of cardio, weights and high-volume upper-body drills. His meal plan included oatmeal, berries, bananas, salads, sweet potatoes, brown rice, chicken, lamb, and lots of olive oil.

Reynolds says the change of diet and fitness routine has helped him manage his rare autoimmune disease called ankylosing spondylitis (AS) and ulcerative colitis, as well as improve his mental health.
