Trans Canada reopens near Field after overnight accident

KAMLOOPS —  The Trans Canada Highway has reopened to single lane, alternating traffic after being closed most of the night because of a vehicle incident. 

The highway was closed much of Thursday (January 3) because of avlanche hazard, then the accident happened, and it was shut down again. 

No indication at this time what caused the accident, or when the highway will reopen to full traffic.

The road was closed between Field and the border with Yoho National Park. 

The snowfall and winter storm warnings have been ended for Interior Highways, but there’s still lots of compact snow and slippery sections.
