JOEY’S BURGERS GUY STEALS CRITICS CHOICE AWARDS: The Fiji Girl is so last week. The new viral superstar is Joey’s Burger Guy, photobomber extraordinaire. He made headlines at the 2019 Critics’ Choice Awards by popping up behind Taye Diggs as he announced Mission: Impossible – Fallout as Best Action Movie. PALEYFEST SETS LINE-UP: PaleyFest LA, set to take place March 15-24 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, has set its lineup. Amazon‘s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel will open the show. That will be followed by Netflix‘s Grace and Frankie (March 16 at 2:00 pm); CBS‘ An Evening with Stephen Colbert (March 16 at 7:00 pm); VH1‘s RuPaul’s Drag Race (March 17 at 2:00 pm); FOX‘s 9-1-1 (March 17 at 7:00 pm); CW‘s Jane The Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend: The Farewell Seasons (March 20 at 7:30 pm – two-panel event); NBC‘s Parks and Recreation 10th Anniversary Reunion (March 21 at 7:30 pm); and then AMC‘s The Walking Dead (March 22 at 7:30 pm). The festival will close with NBC‘s This Is Us (March 24 at 7:00 pm).
LIZA MINNELLI GIVES RARE OK TO JUDY GARLAND MUSICAL: Chasing Rainbows: The Road to Oz, a new bio-musical about Judy Garland has received a rare endorsement from her daughter Liza Minnelli and the Garland Estate. “My mother said that her biography is in her music, and now a talented creative team is using that music to tell the story of her early years and her extraordinary rise to fame,” Minnelli said in an exclusive statement to Deadline. “I’m grateful and happy they’re telling the fascinating story of her early history.”
DEWANDA WISE AND JESSICA WILLIAMS RECRUITED FOR THE TWILIGHT ZONE: DeWanda Wise and Jessica Williams have joined the Jordan Peele-led revival of The Twilight Zone, which is headed for CBS All-Access. The episode will also feature Lucinda Dryzek, Jefferson White and Jonathan Whitesell.
