KAMLOOPS — Later this month, Thompson-Nicola Regional Library members will be able to borrow a thermal imaging camera as they would borrow a book.

The new “See the Heat” program is sponsored by the City of Kamloops and FortisBC, in hopes that members will use the camera to identify drafts in their homes.

In a news release, City of Kamloops Sustainability Services Supervisor Glen Cheetham says users will be surprised with how much detail the camera shows.

“These thermal imaging cameras provide really striking images that make the somewhat abstract concept of heat loss more tangible for people,” said Cheetham. “We hope this motivates improvements to home energy efficiency.”
