Blazers drop back out of playoffs after loss in Seattle

Unlike the two home wins on Friday and Saturday, the Blazers gave up the first goal when Noah Philp scored his 19th of the season. A minutes and 25 seconds later, the T-Birds added another one with the game’s first star Matthew Wedman hitting the 20-goal mark to make it 2-0.

Zane Franklin scored his 23rd of the season before the end of the first to cut the deficit to one goal.

Seattle outscored the Blazers 2-1 again in the middle frame with Wedman scoring his second of the game to give the home team a 4-1 lead. Connor Zary tallied his 12th of the year near the end of the second period. It was 4-2 Seattle after 40 minutes.

Wedman added his third point of the night on the 5-2 goal, setting up Sean Richards to seal the victory at home, snapping a five-game losing streak against Kamloops dating back to last season. Seattle had previously defeated the Blazers 4-3 on Oct. 8, 2017.

Kamloops next plays at home on Wednesday night against B.C. Division-leading Vancouver.
