Prince Harry’s Impassioned Speech
On Wednesday, expectant royals Prince Harry and Meghan Markle both had official royal outings. Meghan visited the National Theatre, while Harry delivered an impassioned speech about the importance of progress to a room of young leaders.
When Harry took the podium at the Commonwealth Youth Roundtable at Lancaster House in London, he explained how the child he and Meghan are expecting has made him more aware than ever of the need for change and community service.
He said: “As someone who is about to become a father, I am acutely aware of our shared responsibility to make this world more resilient and its inhabitants more accountable for the next generation. The only way to see real progress is not by chance, it’s by change.”
He went on to say that mental, environmental and personal health will help the world progress. “All health is interconnected – our mental health, our planet’s health, the health of our communities. We do no survive, and certainly do not thrive without the acknowledgment and understanding that in addressing one problem, we are paradoxically solving another.”
