FIELD — Canadian Pacific Railway says it has reopened the mainline through Field, B-C, where 99 grain cars and two locomotives jumped the tracks in a deadly derailment Monday.
Three Calgary-based crew members were killed and an investigation into why the air brakes released on the parked train continues.
In a news release last night, C-P Rail said the mainline tracks were opened earlier yesterday after completing all necessary safety checks in close collaboration with Transport Canada.
It says C-P crews and contractors are still “working diligently in challenging conditions to remove the damaged rail cars and equipment.”
