Kamloops man injured after pedestrian collision in Okanagan

PEACHLAND, B.C. — RCMP are looking for witnesses after a Kamloops man was injured in a crash in Peachland this week.

In a news release, Kelowna RCMP say the incident happened Monday evening.

Police say the 59-year-old man was a pedestrian crossing Highway 97 near Clements Crescent when he was hit by a car in the right turn lane.

According to police, the man had emerged from between two stationary vehicles at an uncontrolled portion of the highway in the community.

The man was taken to hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver was a local Peachland woman in her 60s, and police say though she was shaken up by the collision, she fully co-operated with investigators.

Her vehicle was damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
