NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK TEACH HISTORY OF BOY BANDS IN ‘BOYS IN THE BAND’ MUSIC VIDEO: New Kids on the Block pay tribute to boy bands in their new music video, “Boys in the Band.” In the video, the guys – Danny Wood, Jordan Knight, Jonathan Knight, Joey McIntyre, and Donnie Wahlberg – help give a history lesson on some of everyone’s favorite boy bands including ‘NSync, Boyz II Men, 98 Degrees, One Direction, and BTS. The video starts off with Lance Bass playing a history teacher where he introduces his class to a much older version of NKOTB before they break into their tribute to all of the bands and their fandoms. “Boys in the Band (Boy Band Anthem)” will appear on New Kids on the Block’s 30th anniversary reissue of Hangin’ Tough, which debuts March 8th. The album will feature two other new songs, including “80s Baby” featuring Salt-N-Pepa.
RYAN ADAMS’ TOUR CANCELLED AMID SEXUAL ASSAULT ALLEGATIONS: Ryan Adams’ planned tour of the United Kingdom and Ireland has been cancelled after he was accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women. The 44-year-old singer/songwriter was set to kick off a series of shows starting in Dublin on March 30th but the tour will no longer take place, Ticketmaster Ireland announced Friday adding that refunds will be issued. Last month, Ryan was accused of sexual misconduct and manipulative behavior by several women, including his ex-wife Mandy Moore. She said his controlling behavior blocked her ability to move her music career forward. Ryan’s latest album release has also been cancelled.
BTS SELLS OUT WEMBLEY STADIUM SHOW IN 90 MINUTES: South Korean boy band BTS will perform a sold-out show at Wembley Stadium in June. The venue confirmed in a tweet Friday the K-pop group sold out tickets for its concert June 1st in London, England. Tickets sold out in 90 minutes after going on sale Friday morning. BTS also sold out their June 7th show at Stade de France in Paris, France, Friday morning. BTS announced their “Love Yourself: Speak Yourself” stadium world tour in February. The boy band will kick off the tour May 4th in Los Angeles and bring the venture to a close July 14th in Shizouka, Japan. BTS has joined the ranks of superstars such as Michael Jackson, Madonna, Beyonc, One Direction, Taylor Swift, Queen and Ed Sheehan that have sold out Wembley Stadium.
JAMES ARTHUR & MARTIN JENSEN RELEASE ‘NOBODY’: Martin Jensen and James Arthur have teamed up on a new track called “Nobody.” The 27-year-old superstar DJ and the 31-year-old singer released their collaboration on Friday. The song was co-written by Philip Plested and Scott Harris alongside Martin.
