KAMLOOPS — A second suspect in a February homicide in Brocklehurst has been arrested in a tense police operation on the Tk’emlups Reserve.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says Gordie Wayne Braaten was taken into custody Monday (Mar. 4) from a home on Cree Drive.

Braaten was wanted for murder and attempted murder in the shooting incident that led to the death of Jason Glover on February 15, near Tranquille Road and Southill Street.

Another man wanted in the shooting, Hugh McIntosh, was arrested February 26 in Langley.

Shelkie says RCMP investigation led officers to the Cree Drive home earlier today.

Because Braaten was considered armed and dangerous, local RCMP called in the Southeast District Emergency Response Team to help with the arrest.

Shelkie says Braaten was arrested without incident.

She notes officers will limit access to Cree Drive while they complete today’s investigative activities, and they thank surrounding residents for their cooperation.
