KAMLOOPS — The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) of BC says its work prevented further violence in Kamloops last month.

According to a CFSEU news release, the unit’s Uniform Gang Enforcement Team (UGET) was in Kamloops for nine days in February, focusing on local gang activity and allowing the Kamloops RCMP detachment to focus on priority investigations.

Over the course of those nine days, UGET members stopped 144 vehicles in Kamloops and checked 173 people.

The operation took 19 “potential weapons” off the street, including a replica .357 magnum pellet gun, several knives, brass knuckles and bear spray.
