Transgender Pride flag flies ahead of International Day of Visibility
KAMLOOPS — March 31st is International Day of Transgender Visibility, and on Monday at City Hall, Kamloops Pride took the opportunity to raise the Trans Pride Flag in recognition.
Around a dozen people gathered at the flagpole in front of city hall for the flag raising ceremony, where local man Beckham Evans got the honour of raising the flag.
Evans says he believes Transgender people are misunderstood for a variety of reasons, and that increased visibility will help more people learn about the realities trans people face.
