DUMBO COSTUME DESIGNER ON PARTNERSHIP WITH TIM BURTON: The Oscar-winning costume designer Collen Atwood has brought Tim Burton’s visions to bear in Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow, Alice in Wonderland and now, Dumbo. “We just kind of hit off visually in a way that works. I’m a huge admirer of Tim’s art and his absolute ability and let them do their thing,” Atwood explained, adding, “We don’t really have rules. We try to avoid those!” Dumbo is a live-action remake of the 1941 animated classic starring Colin Farrell, Eva Green and Danny DeVito, among many others.

ILANA GLAZER, JUSTIN THEROUX, PIERCE BROSNAN STAR IN FALSE POSITIVE: As Broad City ends its five-season run on Comedy Central, Ilana Glazer has set her next project, a horror film she co-wrote, titled False Positive. Justin Theroux and Pierce Brosnan also star. John Lee co-wrote and is directing the project for A24.

LOVE, SIMON, VIDA, QUEER EYE AMONG GLAAD WINNERS: Love, Simon, Vida and Queer Eye are among the winners recognized at the 30th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, many of which were handed out Thursday night; Love, Simon was named best film, Starz‘s Vida nabbed best comedy series and Queer Eye snagged best reality show. Beyonce and Jay-Z were recognized for their efforts on behalf of the community with the Vanguard Award. The GLAAD Awardshonor entertainment that fairly and accurately represents LGBTQ people and their issues. Winners in 15 of the 27 categories were announced Thursday, while the rest will be handed out at a New York ceremony on May 4th.

AGNES VARDA DIES AT AGE 90: French film director Agnes Varda has died at age 90. At this year’s Berlin Film Festival, she received an award for her lifetime’s work in film. She became an iconic influence on New Wave film, beginning with 1954’s La Pointe Courte. Other classic works included Cleo From 5 to 7, Faces Places and Vagabond.
