Cariboo Memorial Hospital low-risk delivery services to resume
WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. – Interior Health has announced that maternity services at Cariboo Memorial Hospital (CMH) for low-risk deliveries will resume on Tuesday (April 30).
Low-risk deliveries are defined as babies who have reached full term (37+ weeks) for pregnancies that have had minimal or no complications. CMH is also able to perform planned and emergency C-sections as required.
Pregnancies with a high risk of complication during delivery will be continued to be directed to Kamloops or communities of their choosing, Interior Health says in a news release. Expectant mothers are being told to consult with their physicians regarding whether they can plan for deliveries at CMH, or if they need to relocate to places like Kamloops.
