Stabbing at Sandman Centre

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Mounties are busy investigating a stabbing this morning.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says at around 7:40 a.m. police learned that a man was stabbed near Sandman Centre, but Shelkie says the victim is not providing much help.

“When officers arrived, the victim did not share any information about his injury. Police searched the area for a suspect or witness with no success.”

She says the victim was transported to hospital with a non-life threatening injury.

Shelkie says it’s too soon to say if the incident was targeted.

“At this time, it would be totally speculation to say whether it was random or not since the person isn’t forthcoming with information but normally I would say that if the victim doesn’t give out information on an injury that it’s not a random situation.”

Shelkie asks anyone with information about the stabbing to call police.
