Kamloops Mounties arrest suspect in Brocklehurst assault

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP have made another arrest in relation to a violent assault that occurred last weekend in Brocklehurst.

The assault took place on June 9 at 2535 Glenview Avenue and left the male victim with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says there were two male suspects, one of whom was arrested on Monday. She says the second suspect was arrested today.

“At approximately 1:00 p.m., the suspect was seen inside of a vehicle on Linden Avenue with two other people. The vehicle was stopped by police and the suspect was detained. The other two people were released at the scene.”

She says police believe the assault was targeted. The investigation is ongoing.
