KAMLOOPS —  Kamloopsians lived up to Canadians reputation as one of the most polite and kind in the world over the weekend.

According to Kamloops RCMP Sergeant Darren Michels, police responded to minimal incidents at this year’s Canada Day celebration at Riverside Park.

“This year was a very calm year, everyone seemed to be behaving themselves,” said Michels. “We didn’t have a lot of issues that needed to be addressed besides a few minor alcohol pour outs and the odd intoxicated person that we had to be taken care of until they were sober.”

Michels says most Riverside Park events are family-friendly which helps keep trouble away.
