TEA WITH THE DAMES CLIPS DROPS: Dames Maggie Smith and Joan Plowright have had it with Judi Dench‘s cast-off crumbs on Tea With the Dames. Smith tells Dench when the latter tells them they could work forever: “But you’re always asked first, if I may say so. I’m turning on you. It’s all coming out now!” After adjusting her hearing aid, Plowright concurs, saying her American agent knows Dench has her “paws” on everything worthwhile. Tea With the Damesopens Friday in limited release.
SUKI WATERHOUSE SHOT SOMEONE DURING FILMING OF ASSASSINATION NATION: During the New York premiere of Assassination Nation, actress Suki Waterhouse said she actually shot someone during the process of filming. “I hurt somebody,” the actress told the audience according to Page Six. “The bullet ricocheted. They hadn’t seen that in 20 years. The bullet came back at the guy and hurt him.” Waterhouse added that they’d had about an hour of firearms training beforehand.
AMAZON IS NO. 3 DIGITAL AD PLATFORM: Amazon is coming up in the ad biz ranks, according to a new eMarketer report that predicts its revenues will double this year. If all goes as forecast, Amazon will be closing in on Facebook and Google, surging past Oath and Microsoft with $4.61 billion in ad revenue. Amazon is also reportedly giving TV networks a run for their money, with NFL Thursday Night Football and the like.
KELLY CLARKSON TALK SHOW SET: The Kelly Clarkson Show is set to debut in fall of 2019. The American Idol‘s show will serve as the lead-in daytime to Ellen on NBC. It will replace Steve Harvey‘s talker, Steve, which has been on the air for seven seasons. TBD what will happen to Steve.
