Police apprehend prohibited driver with 8 arrest warrants
KAMLOOPS — A 28-year-old man is facing multiple charges after fleeing from police during a traffic stop.
The Kamloops RCMP Traffic Section, Canadian Pacific Railway Police, and the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance were involved in a joint traffic enforcement project on Mission Flats Road Thursday morning when they stopped a man for speeding.
Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says the man then decided to flee.
“The suspect drove past those police, and then exited the road onto a train track – he followed the train track, [and] got two flat tires. The driver and his female passanger then got out of the truck and ran up a hill, and into some brush,” explained Shelkie.
