UPDATE: Pepper spray incident leads to ‘hold and secure’ at Valleyview Secondary

KAMLOOPS — UPDATE: Kamloops RCMP say the incident involved pepper spray and young people not from the school.

The ‘hold-and-secure’ has now been lifted. There are no reports of any injuries.

EARLIER: CFJC Today has received multiple reports that Valleyview Secondary School was placed in lockdown/hold-and-secure protocol during the noon hour Wednesday.

A sign posted on the outside of the school reports the school is in hold-and-secure.

Kamloops RCMP has yet to comment on the situation.

A CFJC Today crew at the scene reports several police vehicles outside the school, but no areas cordoned off and no appearance of a state of high alert.
