UPDATE: Traffic flow resumes on northbound Coquihalla at Merritt

MERRITT, B.C. — UPDATE: Drive BC says traffic is now getting through using the left lane, but Exit 286 remains closed.

EARLIER: The northbound Coquihalla Highway is closed at Merritt this hour after a crash.

The collision occurred close to the junction of the Coquihalla and the Okanagan Connector.

A photo from a member of the public shows a long lineup at the site already.

Details of the crash aren’t known yet, but Drive BC indicates the lanes won’t re-open for some time.
