Kamloops MLAs pepper Premier Horgan over legal advice he received regarding the Kinder Morgan pipeline expansion
VICTORIA — B.C. Premier John Horgan was on the heat seat during question period in Victoria Wednesday.
The B.C. Liberal opposition peppered the premier with questions focused on having him confirm whether or not he had received legal advice from the civil service advising he no longer talk about stopping the Kinder Morgan expansion project.
“He didn’t even listen to his own environment minister earlier this week who said when receiving legal advice about what we can and cannot do to act on things in any other manner would be a demonstration of bias,” alleged Kamloops-South Thompson Liberal MLA Todd Stone.
“Let me get something straight,” added Kamloops-North Thompson Liberal MLA Peter Milobar. “The premier is told at the very beginning by goverment lawyers that we can’t actually stop the Trans Mountain project, it’s federal jurisdiction. But clearly the premier still wants to stop the project so he starts a trade war, angers the federal government and destroys our business climate.”
