Sun Peaks council approves townhouse complex
SUN PEAKS, B.C. — As Sun Peaks becomes a more attractive place to live and work, demand for housing is exceeding supply, and the resort municipality is trying to find ways to keep up.
At today’s council meeting, Mayor Al Raine and council approved a rezoning application for a new townhouse complex that will boast three-bedroom units. It’ll be built on a property on village way that currently serves as an RV parking lot.
“It’s a townhouse complex that will have 26 to 28 units,” says Sun Peaks Councillor Darcy Alexander. “That’s the first new project that we’ve had in about five years, and we’re negotiating on other projects but nothing is finalized yet. But we’re going to see more growth in the next three to five years.”
