KHLOE KARDASHIAN’S TWISTED SISTERS RENEWED: Investigation Discovery has ordered a second season of true-crime series Twisted Sisters, which is exec produced by Khloe Kardashian. The show has nabbed strong ratings, with 1.3 million viewers per week. The show follows outrageous crimes committed by sisters, and includes interviews from their family and friends. It documents their inspiration, how they pulled it off, and what led them to a life of crime to begin with. Season 2 will bow on ID in the summer of 2019.
HEATHERS REBOOT IS A GO: Again? After canceling the reboot of Heathers in the wake of the Parkland shooting, Paramount Network has decided to air the series with key edits. Heathers will bow in a Halloween event in two-hour blocks from October 25 to 29. One storyline that got tweaked involved a student blowing a school up, as did another where a character plays an ultraviolent video game about school shootings.
NEW VILLAIN FOR SEASON 3 OF DAREDEVIL: “Daredevil is our true public enemy,” intones Vincent D’Onofrio‘s Wilson Fisk in the first full trailer for season 3 of Netflix‘s Daredevil, which bows next month. The series returns two and a half years after season 2 debuted.
JAMES BALDWIN HAD BEALE STREET DREAM TEAM: James Baldwin died three decades before Barry Jenkins‘ If Beale Street Could Talk was made, but he knows a bit about what the author wanted. After being granted permission to make the film, Jenkins tells The New York Times that Baldwin’s estate gave him a notebook with the author’s notes on his vision for a potential film: “There’s Ruby Dee, a mysteriously initialed ‘D.B.,’ the singer and actress Rosalind Cash” as actors. For directors, he wanted either the photographer and filmmaker Gordon Parks, Franois Truffaut, or A Raisin in the Sun‘s first stage director Lloyd Richards.
