LONDON — A British union says it is suspending a planned four-day strike by train managers on Eurostar services to hold more talks with management.

Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport Union walked out Friday at the cross-Channel train company in a dispute over shifts and work-life balance.

They planned a four-day strike followed by a second three-day walkout over a British holiday weekend starting Aug. 27.

But the union said Friday that progress had been made in talks and it was suspending the strike for more negotiations.
