KAMLOOPS, B.C. — No news is good news for TNRD officials on flood watch.

According to Debbie Sell, Information Officer with the TNRD, its Emergency Operation Centre didn’t receive any flood calls overnight, which likely means creek levels in Cherry Lake and other high-risk areas haven’t increased substantially.

“At this point, we haven’t received any reports,” said Sell. “Typically, we receive reports that levels have been rising by 8:30 a.m. every morning, so we’re taking how quiet it is as a good sign.”

Sell says the TNRD will spend most of Saturday monitoring water levels in Merritt and Lower Nicola hit hard by flooding earlier this week.
