Kamloops’ 10th annual Healthy Kids Day promotes active lifestyles

KAMLOOPS — With a day off from school today, May 15, many children were able to get outside and enjoy Health Kids Day at the John Tod YMCA-YWCA. 

Sponsored by Interior Savings, it’s a completely free event, with numerous community organizations volunteering their time to provide a little healthy entertainment. 

“Really, all it’s about is introducing children and their families to healthy choice activities,” said Kamloops YMCA-YWCA CEO Colin Reid, “and promoting a healthy lifestyle within children and families, and hopefully some of it rubs off and these children lead a healthy and active life throughout their life cycle and we have a healthier society as a result.”
