DUA LIPA RECORDING THE NEXT JAMES BOND THEME SONG?: Dua Lipa could be the next artist to record a James Bond theme song if the band Years & Years are to be believed. During an interview with the BBC, Years & Years’ Mikey Goldsworthy may have let the cat out of the bag. “I thought they’d ask us to do the theme song but alas I think it’s Dua Lipa doing it,” Mikey said. “Am I not supposed to say that? That’s what I heard…I feel bad now. Maybe I’ve ruined everything!” he added. The last couple of themes have been recorded by Sam Smith (“Writing’s on the Wall”), Adele (“Skyfall”), Jack White and Alicia Keys (“Another Way to Die”) and more. Bond 25, starring Daniel Craig in the title role, will hit theaters on November 8, 2019.

JULIA MICHAELS DISHES ON WORKING WITH SHAWN MENDES AND ED SHEERAN: In addition to making her own hits, Julia Michaels has collaborated with some other hitmakers on a few songs released this year. She co-wrote Anne-Marie’s hit “2002” with Ed Sheeran and co-wrote two songs on Shawn Mendes’ new album, “Nervous” and “Like to Be You.” She tells Billboard that Shawn and Ed have different energies in the studio. Julia says Shawn has a quirky habit of leaving water bottles all around the studio, but she was impressed by his overall enthusiasm. As for Ed, she says songwriting with him is a whirlwind. She adds, “He’s one of the few artists that I know that can write consistently, like five songs in a row, that are hits.” Michaels put out another catchy single of her own, “Jump,” which she released last month. Julia rejoins Maroon 5 for their Red Pill Blues tour in September.
