HAILEE STEINFELD GETS INTO SHAPE WITH HELP FROM PERSONAL TRAINER DAD: Workout time often doubles as family time for Hailee Steinfeld, who’s personal trainer is her father Peter. “He’s one of my best friends,” she says. “It’s hard for me to listen to anybody else because I really think he’s the best.” Having a dad as a trainer does have to come with some rules, though. “There were times when I was like, ‘You’re my dad when you’re my dad. You’re Pete when you’re training me, and that’s it,’” she says. “But then he’d be pushing me and I’d be like, ‘Dad, I don’t want to do that!’” Hailee, who has a new partnership with the active wear brand Mission, says she loves to sweat it out whenever she’s feeling down. “I love to get it all out that way,” she says. “It’s a form of escape.” Steinfeld also tries to eat at multiple small meals throughout the day, but says she occasionally indulges in sugary treats.

SELENA GOMEZ CELEBRATES HER BIRTHDAY ON A PRIVATE YACHT: Selena Gomez boarded a private yacht with her friends for a birthday party on Sunday night in Orange County, California. Selena turned 26 that day and she was joined by some of her closest friends for a dinner party on the yacht. The boat was decorated in blue and white balloons and there was a banner that read, “Feliz Cumpleaos Selena.” Guests included good friends Raquelle Stevens, Courtney J., Barry, Sam Lopez, and Connar Franklin. LADY GAGA’S ‘A STAR IS BORN’ TO DEBUT AT VENICE FILM FESTIVAL: Fans in Venice, Italy, will be the first to get a look at A Star Is Born, Lady Gaga’s big movie debut. The movie, directed by and co-starring Bradley Cooper, will have its world premiere at the 75th Venice Film Festival. This is the fourth movie adaptation of A Star Is Born. Cooper plays fading country star Jackson Maine, who takes rising star Ally, played by Gaga, under his wing. The two become romantically involved, but their relationship is strained when her star rises as his dims. The movie features new original music written by Cooper, Gaga and other collaborators such as Mark Ronson. All the previous versions of A Star Is Born have received Oscar nominations; the 1976 version with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson won the trophy for Best Song, for “Evergreen.” The Venice Film Festival runs from August 29th to September 8th; it’s not clear exactly which day the film will premiere. It arrives in U.S. theaters in October.
