Lindsey Karpluk to be inducted into the Kamloops Sports Hall of Fame

KAMLOOPS — Longtime Kamloops educator, sports administrator, coach and athlete Lindsey Karpluk will be inducted into the Kamloops Sports Hall of Fame.

As an athlete Karpluk played the game in baseball, softball, hockey, basketball, rugby and football.

He has a long coaching career as an educator in the school district and a driving force behind the Fulton Cup, the B.C. “AA” basketball championships when they were played in Kamloops, the Canadian Junior basketball championships in 1992 and the 1993 Canada Summer Games basketball.

Karpluk was a player on Jack Buckham’s 1974 Kam High Red Devils basketball team that finished second in the provincial finals.
