Mark Wahlberg’s Feud

Mark Wahlberg shed some light on the feud he had with co-star Leonardo DiCaprio back when they were working on 1995’s Basketball Diaries together.

Wahlberg, 47, told a crowd of 500 college and high school students at the annual LEAP Foundation conference at UCLA Tuesday that neither one wanted the other to get a starring role in the film.

“He didn’t want me for the part, and I didn’t think he was right for the part,” Wahlberg said. “We both had to really learn how to respect each other, and we earned it.”

He said they eventually learned to respect each other, and even chose to work together again in 2006’s The Departed.
