KAMLOOPS — The Westsyde Pool is one step closer to being open.

The pool has been closed for almost two years after moisture was discovered seeping through the roof.

The centre’s new roof has been installed, with most of the exterior work now complete.

City Facilities Manager Jeff Putnam says crews are now focusing on the interior.

“We’re doing the fit and finish, getting the pool tank refurbished, as well the office spaces and fitness room,” said Putnam. “From the exterior, it doesn’t  look like there’s a lot happening but there’s a lot going on inside.”

Along with a new roof, Putnam says the new centre will feature one of the largest indoor climbing walls in Western Canada.

He says they hope to have the new centre open by the end of summer.
