Storm/Heat take commanding playoff leads

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Storm scored three second period goals and went on to a 5-2 win over the 100 Mile House Wranglers to take a 3-1 lead in their first round playoff series.

Mitch Friesen led the Storm with two goals and an assist.

Kamloops will have a chance to clinch the series when they meet the Wranglers in 100 Mile House Thursday night.

In Revelstoke Kolten Moore broke a 1-1 tie late in the second period to lift the Chase Heat to a 2-1 win over the Grizzlies and a 3-1 lead in that series.
