Distracted driving tickets issued to more than 40 Kamloops drivers
KAMLOOPS — It appears distracted driving is still a pertinent issue in Kamloops.
In a release, the Kamloops RCMP Traffic Unit says it conducted more than five hours worth of distracted driving projects on Oct. 23 and 24, resulting in 44 Distracted Driving Violation tickets issued.
Distracted driving is one of the leading causes of crashes and it is entirely preventable, as are the crashes and casualties caused by the behaviour, police say.
The fine for distracted driving is $368, along with four penalty points on your licence.
