KamCon aiming to bring gaming community together
KAMLOOPS — Two Kamloops men are hoping their new convention will bring the whole gaming community together.
Tyler Carpentier is the organizer of KamCon, a gaming event running from tomorrow until Sunday at Thompson Rivers University.
“We know that the gaming community is pretty strong here in Kamloops,” Carpentier says. “There’s a number of stores that are supported by that same community. We know that it’s growing quite a bit as well. In those stores, you’re seeing a lot more space being dedicated to table top games, and role playing games, because the demand is there.”
Carpentier and his business partner Julien felt that the community was underserved and that there was space for a convention here in Kamloops. A little more than a year ago, the pair started researching and figuring out what it would take to put on a convention.
