Discussion on electoral reform in Kamloops
KAMLOOPS — The discussion on reforming Canada’s electoral system will be front and centre tonight in Kamloops, at a town hall meeting.
The meeting, being held at St. Paul’s Cathedral downtown, is being hosted by the Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo Electoral Reform Committee, a group dedicated to promoting proportional representation. The group feels the system needs to change, and it’s important to move away from a ‘first past the post’ system, which they say falsely elects majority governments.
