Lightning sparks blaze in Westwold area

KAMLOOPS — A new lightning-caused wildfire has popped up southwest of Monte Lake in the Westwold area.
It’s believed the 22 hectare blaze started this morning.
Kamloops Fire Centre Fire Information Officer Nicole Bonnett says wildfire crews are busy responding.
“We currently have 16 personnel on site, six pieces of heavy equipment and there is air support as well.”
She says no structures or homes are currently threatened.
