Tractor driver killed in accident near Cherry Creek

KAMLOOPS — UPDATE: Kamloops RCMP are confirming the operator of a tractor that overturned near Cherry Creek this afternoon has died.

Emergency services were called to the scene at about 2:15 p.m., on Beaton Road near the Trans Canada Highway.

A farm tractor had overturned, trapping the operator underneath it.

An excavator was used to lift the tractor off of the man, and paramedics worked to revive him but he succumbed to his injuries.

EARLIER: Kamloops RCMP confirm they have been called to what sounds like a terrible accident in the Cherry Creek area.

Emergency services were called to Beaton Road near the Trans Canada Highway, for a report of a farm tractor that had rolled over, trapping its operator.

Police said it was too soon to say how seriously the man was injured.
