KAMLOOPS — The 19th Annual Wildlights festival at the B.C. Wildlife Park returns this Friday, Dec. 9.
The Wildlights event brings in about 20 per cent of the Wildlife Park’s annual attendance.
The park is filled with colourful light displays as families wander, or hop on the train, for a tour of the park and a glimpse of its animals. All before stopping by the fire, or warming up with a cup of hot chocolate.
The festival has improved and changed over the years, but General Manager, Glenn Grant says this year the park has brought back an old favourite event.
“We used to show movies during the event,” Grant said, “then we got away from that and did something different … and now we’re going back to showing movies again. So, in Highland Valley Copper’s amphitheater there’s a large movie screen set up in there and we’ll be doing holiday favourites, Christmas cartoon shorts, so Charlie Brown’s Christmas, Frosty, and Rudolph, and those types of movies.”
The Wildlights Festival runs nightly from 5-9 p.m., until Jan 2.
