Catharine Pendrel wins Canada Cup race

KAMLOOPS — Catharine Pendrel (Kamloops) has won the first Canada Cup mountain bike race of the season.   The Olympic bronze medalist led from the first lap in finishing ahead of Canadian national champion Emily Batty.    Pendrel says “you never know what to expect in the beginning of the season, but it felt like the whole package.   I felt strong on the climbs and really smooth in the woods, so I’m happy with how things went.   It’s always great to star the season off strong.”
